Dottore (the Doctor) is a comic character from Bologna, the oldest university town in Europe. He is scientist ( lawyer or astronomer) and has healthy appetite usually. He loves to interlard a speech with Latin expressions in conversation, and no-one would get a word in edgeways.

     His costume - black coat with white collar - was typical for the scientist of that time. A black skullcap fits over the mask covering the hair of Dottore.
