     Colombina (or Columbine, what means "dove") is the mischievous and charming serving wench of the Commedie dell'Arte, a comic character who is not always "a mirror of virtue". She is remarkable for her nimbleness, flirting and her typically feminine wit. She has other names sometimes, such as Arlecchina, Riccolina, Smeraldina, Corallina.

     The Colombina's costume is motley, like the Harlequin's, and it is not surprising at all - you see they the partners on the stage (and frequently in life).
